London Dreamzzzzz
First
of all, a big congrats to Gagan Narang for giving India its first medal in
London Olympics. We can hope for more in the coming days.
India
is having more than 120 crore people. But still we struggle at every Olympics
to get some medals. Countries with very less population produce good athletes
and earn a few medals at Olympics. We are not behind any country in human
resource. But we fail to provide right environment for them to come up to the
international standard. It is very unfortunate that only cricketers are getting
enough support from government and even from the society. Only during Olympics
or Asian games, we remember other sports activities. Sponsors are also
interested only in cricket as it is generating huge revenue.
It
is high time for the govt and the sports ministry to do at least something for
sports activities other than cricket. We can hope that at least in next
Olympics, our players will be more equipped to face the international competition.

The Presidential Race…
The
race for the top post had already began in the capital. But the question is how
many of them are actually eligible for this post? Whether he/she should be a
politician?
It
would be better if we choose somebody other than politicians. Since Dr. A P J
Abdul Kalam had used his powers judiciously and for the people while he was the
President rather than acting as a puppet, he couldn’t get a second chance. But
the UPA govt. should show the courage at least now to give him a second chance.
The government should come to a consensus with the opposition and other
political parties to give him a second term as the President of India. Majority
of Indians want to see this happen in July when Pratibha Patil steps down.
As
an ordinary citizen of India, we can only hope for the best. These are the
situations when the so called 'People's Power' becomes a mere spectator. Everything
is ruled by politicians (they are the people’s representative but in majority
of cases, this is not true. They can act only as a representative of the
political party). Politics is not a mere profession. It should be a social
service. I don’t have the opinion that all politicians are not good or corrupt.
But a single drop of poison is enough to contaminate a full bucket of water.
Being a citizen of India, our responsibility is to filter these drops from
falling into the bucket. Now we don’t have any other choice other than to wait
till the next general elections.

Maoists Rules…
Even
after continuous efforts by central and respective state governments, maoists are
having strength and influence among the people in remote areas than what the
governments have. There areas don’t have any development. The people over there
don’t even know the meaning of development.
Maoists
are raising the pathetic situation of the people in these areas to justify
their wrong approach of killing and abducting innocent jawans and officers
working in these areas. Some social activists are also justifying the maoists but
they should also understand that the victims of maoist operations too should be
given humanitarian considerations. They are also social animals having families
waiting for them.
After
the Dantewada attacks in 2010, govt. had succeeded in stopping major attacks
but still Maoists are strong in some parts of the country. The govt. should
seek help from the air force to counter Maoists who are hiding in areas which
are difficult to reach. We have a mighty intelligence agency but still we fail
to avoid such attacks. There should be a fully dedicated team in the intelligence
agency to counter the threats coming from within the country. The citizens of
India should have the right to live freely and safely in any part of the
country.
